Join us for the annual Greyhound Gallop, a chip-timed 5K, 1K, and Fun Run — a favorite East Cobb tradition for all ages and abilities. Whether you're racing for a personal best, strolling with family, or cheering from the sidelines, this is a community event you won’t want to miss.

The Greyhound Gallop is an official qualifier for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race.

All proceeds support campus improvements at Garrison Mill Elementary School.

The Greyhound Gallop 5K begins on campus before heading out onto Wesley Chapel Road, then wind through the scenic, rolling hills of Mabry Park. The course finishes back at Garrison Mill Elementary School, creating a safe, well-supported route for both runners and walkers.

 

Participants can expect clearly marked paths, course volunteers along the way, and a welcoming, community-focused atmosphere from start to finish.

- Chip timing for the 5K

Can my family or business be a sponsor?

YES! There are FAMILY sponsorship opportunities & BUSINESS sponsorship opportunities. The Greyhound Gallop offers sponsors a great opportunity to receive significant exposure among individuals within the East Cobb community while supporting a worthy cause.  All proceeds from the race go towards school improvements at Garrison Mill Elementary School.

 

Deadline

  • Sponsors must register by March 12th to be included on the back of the 2026 race t-shirt.

Thanks to the generosity of our Greyhound Gallop community, we’ve been able to make lasting improvements to our campus, including:

  • New running track installed three years ago

  • New campus sunshade installation began this month

  • Ongoing investments in outdoor learning and student spaces
